Absolutely delighted with the service from EECO Energy from start to finish. A special mention to Simon Trainor, our client liaison, who was first class throughout. He was extremely responsive, explained everything clearly and continues to quickly answer any questions we have. From confirming the system, the full installation was completed within two weeks, which was brilliant. The roofing team and electricians arrived when they said they would and made sure everything was installed neatly and discreet. We shopped around beforehand and EECO also offered the best price for the system we wanted. The solar and battery combination has been brilliant. We're now at the point where, even on an overcast day, the house is basically running for free from the solar and stored battery power. Great price, professional installation and, most importantly, excellent service before and after the job. Would happily recommend EECO Energy.Posted on Google

Staff are great, big thanks to Simon and Deione, they guided me through the process, helped in every way, a 100% trustworthy company. Installation neat and tidy, roofers A+ electrical install again A+, after service excellent, just lift the phone and like Mr Ben they just pop out of nowhere to answer any queries. Biggest mistake should’ve did it 6 years ago.Posted on Google

EECO Energy recently completed a solar PV and battery installation at our home in Lisburn, and we couldn’t be happier. The roofing and electrical teams were skilled, tidy, and clearly took pride in their work. From the first conversation with Stuart, to the installation, the customer service was consistently excellent. The whole process was smooth, well‑explained, and professionally delivered. We’d happily recommend EECO Energy to anyone looking for a reliable solar installer.Posted on Google

Just had 11.7kw of Panels with a 16kw battery installed by Eeco Energy. It's been a great experience. Simon took the time to call out and spent almost 3 hours explaining not only the process, but the benefits of what he felt was the right amount of kit for our needs, which was to be as close to off grid as possible. The Solar panels (26) went up without any issues last Tuesday and on Thursday the electricians came and installed the battery, inverter and Iboost for the hot water. All the installers were friendly and courteous doing a swift and efficient install and keeping me informed of what they were doing throughout the day. When it first went live, and for a brief period, the app showed a solar generation of 11,500watts from an 11,700 watt array! In the 3 days since, we have drawn virtually no electric from the grid, but sold energy back ( although waiting for our G99 application for electricity buyback to complete). We have our house running on solar, the battery fully charged by midday, and the hot water tank full after a few hours. At night, the battery has been powering the whole house, and we have seen 39% to 40% battery remaining in the morning as solar kicks in and starts the process over again. So far very happy and excited to see how it performs over an extended period, but I have every confidence in the install. Simon has been very quick to respond to queries afterwards as well. Highly recommended.Posted on Google

I have just had a PV system installed with 16 panels and a 16 kW battery by EECO. The whole process from getting a quote and a site survey done, through to installation and commissioning was seamless. The sales lead Gerry was very professional and produced a detailed system design and quote. Gerry did not try and up sell any equipment, as I am an engineer, this was appreciated. The design was exactly what we needed for our household energy consumption. The process from order through to installation was only a couple of weeks. The roofing guys that installed the panels and the electricians who installed the battery and inverter were very competent and did a very tidy job. Messina in admin also very helpful with some queries I had throughout the process. I did get quotes from other installers and EECO were the best value like for like. Overall, I am very pleased that I selected EECO to install my system. I would recommend them to anyone.Posted on Google

We decided to get solar a few months back and did a lot of research regarding the best set up for our needs. We had several local companies provide quotes and proposals and decided to go with EECO for a number of reasons; Product warranties were better than others on the inverter and battery. Prices were very competitive. There was no high pressure sales tactics used and we felt in control through the whole process. Finally, Gerry who provided our proposal and quote was a gentleman. The after sales service is amazing. They regularly contact us to make sure we are satisfied. Already we are saving massive amounts even with an electric vehicle being topped up for free every dayPosted on Google

EECO installed a full solar PV install including battery storage for me recently in Bangor/Ards area. Stuart was great in answering my questions and discussing options before I signed up, he promised me installation within 10 days. The roof guys came earlier than promised after checking that worked for me, fast friendly tidy and efficient in no time the panels were up The electrical guys friendly and efficient talked me though the install and the app, and everything. Messina and all the office people were also patient friendly and helpful. I can't say enough about how positive this process was in terms of customer service. And obviously the solar panels and battery are great, even with our weather I have been electrically self supporting since installation. I would definitely recommend the company and the team.

FAQs
We’re here to answer all your questions
How much do solar panels cost?
For homeowners, the cost of solar panels typically ranges from £5,000 to £10,000 for a standard domestic system, depending on the size of the system and the specifics of your property. Larger or more complex installations may exceed this range, while smaller systems may cost less. This price generally includes both the panels and professional installation. If you’d like a more accurate estimate, fill out our form and we’ll price a system for you.
How much will I save if I install solar?
By installing solar panels in Northern Ireland, you can save approximately £50 to £180 per month on energy bills, depending on your system size, energy consumption, and electricity rates.
Over the typical 25–30 year lifespan of a solar system, these savings can add up to £15,000 to £25,000 or more, especially with rising energy costs.
Adding a battery storage system can further increase your savings by allowing you to store excess solar energy for use during the evening or night, reducing your reliance on grid electricity and maximising self-consumption. With a battery, monthly savings can rise by 20–50%, potentially bringing lifetime savings to £20,000–£30,000 or more.
Additionally, government incentives and potential income from exporting excess energy to the grid can further boost your returns. For a personalised estimate of your potential savings, fill out our form, and we’ll calculate a detailed projection tailored to your property.
Is my house a good fit for solar?
Your home may be well-suited for solar if it has a roof with good exposure to sunlight, ideally one that isn’t heavily shaded by trees or nearby buildings. South-facing roofs are particularly effective in the NI, but other orientations can still work well. The amount of available space on your roof also plays a role. We’re happy to assess your property and let you know if solar could work for you.
How long does it take to get solar?
The time it takes to get solar panels installed can vary, but the process generally includes an initial consultation, arranging any necessary approvals, and the installation itself. Once everything is in place, the installation usually takes just one to a few days. From start to finish, the entire process typically takes a few weeks, though this can vary depending on individual circumstances.
Are there grants available in Northern Ireland?
Currently, there are no government grants available for domestic solar panel installations in Northern Ireland. The previous Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs) scheme, which provided financial incentives, was phased out and closed to new applicants in 2017. However, the recently released Northern Ireland Energy Strategy aims to address climate change and promote renewable energy, which may lead to new incentives in the future.
For businesses, there are still opportunities for financial support through alternative channels. For example, the Energy Efficiency Capital Grant offers funding to support businesses and organisations in upgrading their energy systems and implementing sustainable practices. Grants of up to £150,000 are available to help businesses buy and install energy-efficient equipment, with the rate of support covering the total eligible project costs based on company size.
